CONNECTICUT PAY EQUITY AND FAIRNESS ACT

In 2015 the state of Connecticut passed The Pay Equity and Fairness Act that bans Connecticut employers from prohibiting employees from discussing their wages with other employees and/or third parties. The Act also makes it unlawful for an employer to require that an employee sign a waiver/document that denies the employee the right to discuss their wages. Lastly, the Act prohibits an employer from retaliating against any employee who exercises their rights under the Act.
The Act applies to all employers regardless of size.
