Consider Updating Employee HandbookBy: Rob Lynn There are a variety of employer- employee incidents that emphasizes the importance of regularly updating your company’s handbook along with their underlying policies and procedures. State & federal employment laws are changing quickly along with the technology influencing how employees work today. With rapid changes in employment law and technology, it has become ever more important that employers update their handbook at least once year. An employee handbook will define how the employer wants employees to be treated and the expectation of employee behavior. The employee handbook does not need to include every detail of current workplace law or explain in great detail the employer’s policies, but the document should be worded in a concise and careful manner so that employers maintain flexibility and employees have a clear understanding of corporate policy.
